Saturday was a big day for the OSL pups - they graduated out of their small whelping pool to a much larger one, giving them and their mom more room to spread out, and also to make room for puppy litter boxes.
These big guys are pooping machines right now, and it's all Theo and Jen can do to keep up and keep them and their pool clean!
The new pool is also several inches deeper, to prevent the pups from climbing over the sides - something they were certainly ready to start trying.
The change in pools is routine for us, but totally new and overwhelming for the pups - so they spent a good deal of time (about 45 minutes) wandering about and whimpering in the morning with the change. Some got 'stuck' in the litter boxes - unable to find their way out, others were just a tad stressed about all the space. But eventually they settled down and now all seem happy with the new arrangement.
Theo is definitely happy for more leg room, as the pups were taking up more than 1/2 of the small pool, leaving her very little stretching & sleeping space at all.
They are nowhere near the point of actually going to the litter boxes on their own, but some will "do their business" there when placed in the boxes, if we catch them in time. :)
For the OSL2's: Trinity's puppies gained weight again today, though they are all still around 1/2 to 2/3 normal sized/weights for this age.
Mama Trinity still doesn't feel great, so we're helping her 'round the clock to keep her pups going, and to get her eating better, so she can hopefully make some more milk for them. Everyone's positive thoughts and prayers are so appreciated!
And - on to a few new pics:
