Another big new development for the OSL pups - they've graduated completely out of their whelping pools (in our bedroom and identical one in the living room)!
They will now be in the whelping pen in the living room, and in a few days, allowed to come out of it and explore the room (when supervised, of course).
This is always a huge step for pups, because it means they begin to spend nights downstairs, in the living room, away from us and their mom. They've gotten just too big for even the big pool (climbing out!), and they'll still get midnight feedings with Theo when Jen is up in the night with Trinity.
Plus, of course during the day, they'll be with all of us and their mom and granny Polliwog.
We're always a little sad when this day comes, as of course, it means we're about at the 'halfway mark' of their lives with us, but this group is super precocious, and are definitely ready for the big pen.

Initially, the pups are usually a little overwhelmed with their new freedom and the wide-open space. These 5 curled up next to the crate in a bunch to console each other. A few hours later, the whole crew discovered the security and comfort of sleeping in the crate.

QT & 99 were much more adventurous.
Agent 99 took the opportunity to have a wrestling match with the blue bird toy.

Meanwhile, it was business as usual (lots of sleeping and nursing) in Trinity's pool:

And, thought the sunlight & shadows obscure it - really fun to see little Emma Peele doing some problem solving and still figuring out how to nurse with mama upside down!

Ahhh! Room to run! ❤️ Little muscles are going to get a work out! Trinity is so pretty and it’s great to see her belly up! The little rubber spring toy is a favorite at our house :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny...the pups seem to think it's interesting (they think anything new is just above awesome right now), but my adults will have nothing to do with that springy toy - I call it the 'DNA chain' toy. :)
