Mr. Canebrake is first with eyes all the way open. Everyone else is cracking open the corners of their eyes and should be fully open in the next few days, but Canebrake was wide awake and all the way open this morning. :)
It always seems to happen overnight that the pups have a major transformation - going from little wriggly grubs, to being 'almost' puppies.
We affectionately call this the 'zombie puppy' stage. They're not able to walk yet, but they're REALLY trying, resulting in shambling, lurching, stumbling, and occasionally actually walking - for about 2 steps - before falling flat again.
They've also began 'zombie play'...slow motion mouthing of each other and mama Scarlet. I even had a tail-wag from Rocky this morning, and a bonafide snuggle from Hopi (she climbed up onto my arm as I was crawling about in the pool trying to snap some pics).
To protect the new, delicate eyes, we'll skip the flash photography for a few days now.
I also realized (thanks, Jen C. for pointing it out!) that most of the pups' names are hard to tell if they're girls or boys, so.... here's a quick cheat sheet:
Hopi = girl
Timber = boy
Rocky = boy
Canebrake = boy
Sidewinder = girl
Mojave = boy
Baja = girl
Panamint = girl
Diamondback = girl
Aruba = girl

Also thought it'd be fun to update weights, so you get a feel for how much they've grown:
Hopi - birth weight was 264 grams. She's now at 747 grams.
Timber - birth weight was 295 grams. He's now at 703 grams.
Rocky - birth weight was 240 grams. He's now at 754 grams - biggest pup as of today!
Canebrake - birth weight was 226 grams. He's now at 655 grams.
Sidewinder - birth weight was 173 grams. She's now at 605 grams.
Mojave - birth weight was 249 grams. He's now at 725 grams.
Baja - birth weight was 181 grams. She's now at 615 grams.
Panamint - birth weight was 170 grams. She's now at 556 grams - still the littlest!
Diamondback - birth weight was 264 grams. She's now at 703 grams - same size as her brother Timber.
Aruba - birth weight was 245 grams. She's now at 721 grams.
For reference - Biggest pup (Rocky) at 754 grams is 1.66 lbs.
Littlest pup (Panamint) at 556 grams is 1.23 lbs.
