Operation Stealth Whippets: Naming Ceremony for the Mighty Rattlers

Well...it probably won't come as a surprise that the pups' Litter Theme will all be different rattlesnake species.

With their mama Scarlet's (and their) amazing recovery and survival skills, how could we not pay a bit of tribute to the serpent?

These guys are proving quite a challenge to my photography skills, and to add to the difficulty - both the camera on my new phone, and our very well-loved, amazing Nikon digital camera are both struggling right now.

I promise to improve on the technical end soon! :)

For now, here's what we've got for names and current weights. All pups are eating like crazy and making big gains!

1. "Hopi" Rattler - now weighing in at 324 grams - up by 60 grams!

2. "Timber" Rattler - now weighing in at 332 grams - up by 38 grams!

3. Banded Rock Rattler - "Rocky" - now weighing in at 278 grams - up by 38 grams!

4. Canebrake Rattler - "Cane" - now weighing in at 284 grams - up by 58 grams!

5. "Sidewinder" - now weighing in at 217 grams - up by 44 grams!

6. "Mojave" Rattler - now weighing in at 310 grams - up by 61 grams!

7. "Baja" Rattler - now weighing in at 230 grams - up by 49 grams!

8. "Panamint" Rattler - now weighing in at 211 grams - up by 41 grams!

9. Diamondback Rattler - "Diamond" - now weighing in at 336 grams - up by 72 grams!

10. "Aruba" Rattler - now weighing in at 314 grams - up by 69 grams!

Average weight gain over the first 2 days for our past pups is 42 grams, so these guys are doing just fine. We're making sure to give the little ones (Sidewinder, Baja, and Panamint) extra time at the milkbar, when their sibling are sleeping, but all are filling out nicely and super active.
